The PC edition of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has cheat codes that make gathering ingredients completely unnecessary. If you know the ID code for an ingredient, you can get as many as you need using the player.additem cheat.
These cheats only work with the PC version of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
How to Enter Cheat Codes for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
While playing the game, press the tilde key (~) to open the cheat console, then enter the desired cheat. To add items to your inventory, use the syntax player.additem code number.
For example, to get five Alkanet Flowers, type the following into the cheat console and press Enter.
player.additem 0003365C 5
