The Guitar Hero series is known for its generous cheat codes that help you reach your true rock star potential, so it's no surprise the PlayStation 3 version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock has cheats that improve your score and accuracy. There's even a code to unlock every instrument, song, and secret character in the game.
These cheats are for the PS3 version. There are also cheats for Guitar Hero III on Wii as well as the Guitar Hero III on PlayStation 2 and Guitar Hero III on the the Xbox 360.
How to Enter Cheats in Guitar Hero 3 for PS3
Instead of using the PS3 controller to enter cheat codes, input codes with the guitar-shaped controller that comes with the game. Select Options from the main menu, then select Cheats > Enter New Cheat. Once a cheat is unlocked, you can toggle it on and off from the Cheats menu by pressing the Green button.
Guitar Hero 3 Cheat Codes
The codes below refer to colored buttons on the guitar:
- B = Blue
- Y = Yellow
- G = Green
- R = Red
- O = Orange
Strum each note or chord as if playing it in a song. When two colors are listed together (such as "BY" for blue and yellow), strum both colors at the same time.
You should hear the actual chord as you play it; however, no sound is emitted when you hold down four buttons at once. When you enter a code correctly, you'll receive a confirmation message that a cheat has been unlocked.
Activating some cheats will disable achievements.
