에어조던 시리즈
에어 조던(Air Jordan)은 마이클 조던을 위한 그리고 마이클 조던의 이름이 들어간 신발 및 의류 브랜드이다. 과거에는 나이키의 브랜드였으나, 현재는 조던 브랜드가 나이키 산하의 독립 브랜드로 분화되면서 조던 브랜드를 통해 발매되고 있다. 조던의 신발이 성공적으로 흥행하자, 이후 NBA에서는 스포츠회사와 자신의 이름을 넣어 신발을 런칭해야만 비로소 성공한 스포츠 스타라는 인식이 생겼다.
나이키(Nike)는 미국의 스포츠 용품 브랜드이다.
1964년 상호명 블루 리본 스포츠 (Blue Ribbon Sports/BRS)로 시작하여 ASICS로부터 제품을 공급받기 위해 자신들을 무역회사로 소개하여 ASICS의 신발 메이커 중 하나인 Onitsuka Tiger 신발 200켤레를 들이면서 사업은 시작되었다. 초창기에 자국 은행에 대출상담을 받으러 갔으나 거절당하고 한 담당자가 윗층에 일본 상사가 있으니 그곳에 가서 상담해 보라고 하였다. 그곳이 닛쇼이와이(현 소지츠)이다. 닛쇼이와이는 나이키에게 전폭적인 투자와 지원을 해 주었다. 또한 나이키가 당시에 생산거점을 일본에 두고 있었는데 그 위탁생산을 했던 곳이 바로 아사히 슈즈다. 현재 나이키는 대표 상품인 운동화를 비롯해 의류, 모자 등 다양한 제품을 판매한다.
나이키의 에어조던 12는 일본의 욱일기(Rising Sun)을 모티브로 디자인되었으며, 이는 직접 에어조던 12를 디자인하고 역대 에어조던 디자인과 나이키 제품 디자인에 대거 참여한 디자이너 팅커햇필드(Tinker Hatfield)가 공식석상에서 밝혔다.
