When Nike wants to get experimental, it taps up the N. 354 division to put a conceptual spin on sneakers both new and old. This time, it’s the Daybreak that gets the treatment. It retains many of the usual features, including lightweight uppers and just the right amount of suede to give support, but gets stripped down to only what’s essential; the Swoosh is embroidered, the heel cap is external, and the muted colourway serves to highlight the reworked panelling.

The Nike Daybreak-Type ‘Light Orewood Brown’ applies neutral hues to a deconstructed rendition of the vintage Daybreak running shoe from 1979. Breathable semi-translucent mesh replaces the sneaker’s traditional nylon build, though the exposed-foam tongue and durable suede overlays remain. Retro tooling draws an additional connection to the past, highlighted by Bill Bowerman’s iconic waffle rubber outsole.
